Poitras at 1 x $850k as a bridge after barely playing in 2025-26 is perfectly believable, and moving a depth winger like Eyssimont to Edmonton for the return of Boston’s own 2027 5th is the kind of minor asset shuffle that happens all the time. The cap and roster numbers are clean and legal, and nothing here stresses the Bruins’ space or contract structure. The only stretch is Anaheim giving up both Frank Vatrano and a 2027 2nd (even if it’s Detroit’s) for Alex Steeves. Vatrano’s production has clearly cratered, but he still has a year left at roughly $4.6M with a modified NTC, and Anaheim is competitive enough that they’re unlikely to pay a premium pick just to dump him for a fringe forward. That deal would probably need Boston to add a better asset or take back less in draft capital, but it’s not so far-fetched as to be impossible.
